Derek and Jen’s page
In December 2000 Derek graduated from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Derek worked on Capitol Hill; first for Senator Bill Nelson (D) of Florida then for Senator Ken Salazar (D) of Colorado as System Administrator and Webmaster. In July 2007 Derek switched to ComputerWorks, a software company that provides Correspondence Tracking and Scheduling software for Congressional offices. Derek was their man on Capitol Hill. For the past 3 years he has been taking a sabbatical to get over burnout. He keeps himself busy socially and continues to play and referee hockey. Derek and Jen got married in 2011 and live on Capitol Hill with 4 (last count) cats and one precious dog (Clara) on the same block where Derek grew up. Jen volunteers for City Wildlife, trying to care for all the wildlife either lost or hurt in the city. Birds, turtles, raccoons, who knows what other creatures? They both love to travel.
